The Hana Family Archives displays and exhibits arts and crafts of the Tachibana family, the feudal lords who ruled Yanagawa throughout the Edo period, from the time of the Yanagawa Domain Lords to the modern Counts.
In 1951, the "Gohana Historical Museum" was established and has been exhibiting and showing daimyo's tools in the residence of "Gohana", the Tachibana residence of the Yanagawa feudal lords.
In 1994, the new "Ohana Historical Museum" was opened as a more suitable facility for displaying valuable cultural assets, and in February 2011, it was renamed the "Tachibana Family Historical Museum.
On December 3, 2013, the Tachibana Foundation took over the management of the museum from the previous management body, Gohana Co.
On December 1, 2014, the Foundation was certified as a public interest incorporated foundation by the Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture and started as the "Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Tachibana Foundation.
